I worked the Grove and currently work at the city club. It's not nearly as creepy as people say. The only reason that it is remotely creepy is that it is secretive. It's secretive because some of the members high profiles and roles in society. It is pretty much a place for wealthy people to network/make friends. It's like a big fraternity that is geared towards the arts. They put on plays, all sorts of concerts, and art galleries. They also have lectures and other neat things like that. As for the grove it's like never never land and all the people there are the lost boys.
The pictures that are on the web and the «rituals» are all plays that they do. Not all members are big business owners or hold power in politics/military. Some just play music others are actors etc.
All the members are actually really nice to us. They all have rules that they must abide to while in the club or they risk their membership. It's their guests that tend to break the rules and who are rude. I think they get this whole.... I'm in a place with a bunch of rich dudes so I'm going to be a rude, snobby, dickish person.
